This is supposed to be a persuasive video to keep music programs in school. I just did it for an English assignment.

  • Interesting video well presented.

Didn't think about music education until later in life. In elementary, we had a band but participation wasn't mandatory so didn't pick up an instrument until the year going into high school when my sister did the same.

Research have shown the positive benefits of music in stimulating brain functions and lead to higher academic achievements.

The issue is funding for music in public schools. We're still having parents who enroll kids to private lessons.

  • Music education in a class full of students is different than having private lessons. It is a much more social atmosphere. People learn to cooperate as a team.

Didn't appreciate the benefits of music education until much later. I'm not only on a F/T work schedule but also a member of 2 local ensembles, While winding down, I'm spending a few hours on weekends practicing for performances at various churches & senior homes.

  • I agree. Keep the music in our schools!!!
