I learn to play Japanese flute - Shakuhachi. I don't have real bamboo flute but I have nice plastic one - Shakuhachi Yuu.
In this video I play 4 japanese folk tunes: Hinomaru, Oumano Oyako, Yuuyake Koyake and Kutsuganaru.
I'm a begging shakuhachi player so don't blame me for poor performance, please :)

  • hey , great sound!!! =), hey is this the normal sakuhachi yuu or the Enhanced Shakuhachi Yuu?

    =) thank's!

  • @Thesixthellone It is a normal shakuhachi Yuu. This video is very old, check my last video, I play much better now :)

  • Thanks for sharing. You are doing well. I've got a Shakuhachi yuu too and will have to post some more up to date videos as I've improved a bit since I first posted my videos. It's not an easy instrument to play but it's fun and has a beautiful sound...

  • @brendan7777 This video is quite old, I'm playing much better now, check out my latest video where I play Rokudan.

  • I'll have my Yuu in two days...looking forward to playing it. Thanks for posting this.

  • @tomifobia Thank you for watching. I plan to record some new shakuhachi videos soon.

  • @NinjutsuLives Not great, in fact, there are a bunch of mistakes. I'm still a beginner, I'm on my second year of learning to play shakuhachi. But now I play much better than can be seen on this video.

  • Great playing!

  • @jesuinogrilo Oh, I see. I call it back part, not bottom :) Yes, my Yuu has these too, I think it's kind of decoration. The other Yuu flute I saw has them too.

English is not my native language too. Thank you :)

  • @megussugem Thank you very much for answering. Actually, I did not mean the root part. I was talking about the bottom part where the thumb hole is located . If you follow along the flute looking that part, do you see some irregularities like plastic bubbles? Please pardon my poor english! I like your videos by the way :)
