The launch of McLaren Automotive

At a press conference in the McLaren Technology Centre based in Woking, UK, Chairman Ron Dennis confirmed McLaren Automotive's ambition to compete head-to-head with the world's best high-performance sports car brands. The MP4-12C is the first model in this range of lightweight, high-quality, mid-engined two-seat sports cars, and will be produced at the new £40 million McLaren Production Centre. Up to 1,000 12Cs will be produced in 2011 and will be distributed through a global network of dedicated McLaren retailers in all major markets.

Awesome!!! Really cool to see a KIWI legacy live on , check out the flying kiwi on steering wheel, a tribute to Bruce McLaren....Its not a replacement for the F1Mac... this is a car that everyday people could, with hard work and years of saving, afford..McLaren could have built a replacement for the Maca but why? As the promo says A NEW CAR BRAND ! as for styling all these type of cars look similar called aerodynamics....imagine a red bull car, be shaped like a can!!lol

ah ok.

somewhere i read taht the F1 cars have an even better power per fuel ratio, because of high combustion temps and some other circumstances.

but the costs for the engine are too big, yes.

mclaren has done a good job since they try to get the web of carbon fibre with machines.

that will cost another people millions of jobs, hehe. but i dont think the car is excellent in technical details. but it is outstanding like other supercars for sure
