Short clip from the Best UK Short nominated animation - 'The Screaming Skull'. It was also screened as part of the Fangoria weekend of Horrors this year in New York.
The film, starring Edward Berry, was produced between May and November 2008 and was joint funded by the Exeter Phoenix Arts Centre and Exeter City Council as part of the Animated Exeter Festival.
'The Screaming Skull' is the third in the 'Penny Dreadful' series of animations. Set after the First world war, its a gothic story of ancestral anxieties, hereditary madness and ghosts that won't be put to rest. Drawing upon such influences as M.R James and the Amicus movies of the 1970's, 'The Screaming Skull' is a quintessential British horror film.
