@kennyboy whoever is supt. has a lot of work to do, true...but Michelle Rhee and her backers aren't the solution...to be honest, a lot of people make money off these kids and this is what it's all about. Publishers make more money off of remedial programs, tutoring programs make money off of them, and of course...charter schools...

My question is why don't parents pick up and leave to a better state. I know it's costly but if you really want to make a difference than make a change. Move to a better state for education. California has these overpopulated school because there is high population in that area. Parents also need to be involved in to these schools. Most of these children once they get home run to the TV. If that cut your cable and save the money to move out. The TV has a major influence in children too.

@pahriz Just after my post.... I change the comment pages and see yours, she got fired huh?
Come on. What's in store for the next superintendent?

The dude resigned 16 months later? Man... I wonder how Michelle Rhee is doing now, its been around 16--18 months.

hahahahahahahah Michelle Rhee - give me a break Michelle! If you tried to tape masking tape over my kids mouths, you'd get your ass kicked - plain and simple. If you are such a great teacher, why are you NOT in the classroom today making a real difference in the lives of children like so many of us.

Just so everyone knows, the DC they are talking about is the DC east of the river. I live in Northwest on the other side of the river and we dont even have public schools or black kids.
Caption spell-check is needed greatly!

@ticks4ticks4 not the solution brother, goes much deeper. As an educator, if you feel like you could not properly raise a child, then yeah you made the right decision. But there's a lot more factors at play.
