Rev. John Dear, S.J. is a priest, pastor, social activist and author. He is the former co-chair of the Fellowship of Reconciliation, and following the events of 9/11, he coordinated the pastoral counseling of victims and bereaved family members. At the May 2006 Conference on Spiritual Activism in Washington, D.C., he spoke about the need for a socially engaged nonviolent movement to revitalize American spiritual and political life.

  • Whether or not he is gay is of no concern to anyone, least of all yourself; first off. Secondly, IT WAS OUR POLICIES THAT LEAD TO THE BUILDING OF THE WALL IN THE FIRST PLACE! That same way that it is OUR POLICIES THAT CREATED AL QAEDA, THAT CAUSED 9/11 AND THAT CREATE DIVISION AMONGST OUR OWN CITIZENS. Fucking clown.

  • This man, and the rest of the "progressive religious Left", did nothing to help the people on the other side of the wall. They ignored what was going on for thirty-five years. I know people who lived on the other side of the wall who are religious and they all described people like this idiot Jesuit as "useful idiots" to the tyrants of Eastern Europe. Nobody could possibly be afraid of a pudgy gay Jesuit whose church is collapsing on itself because of its obscene actions with children.

  • This man sets off the gaydar of everyone I know who's ever met him. Religion is so stupid. Why should we believe what this man says? What right does he have to lecture anyone on anything?
