Greg Koch, Stone Brewing CEO & Co-Founder spent an evening at Belgium's
famed specialty beer bar Moeder Lambic to write the label text for the
2011 Stone Old Guardian Barley Wine & Stone Old Guardian Belgo Barley
Wine.
While he was there, Greg chatted with a few of the folks that run Moeder
Lambic about the state of Belgian beers and brewers, and their thoughts
on the American craft beer scene and video'd it for your voyeuristic
pleasure. You may be quite surprised at what they had to say!
Located in Brussels, Belgium, Moeder Lambic boasts 40 beer taps, the
highest number in the entire country of Belgium! The next closest
runner-up has 25 taps, and it gets quickly fewer from there.

I have been to this establishment and its first class. The staff knowledge of the beers they have on tap is amazing. One of my favorites is the Zinnabeer.

Moeder Lambic. If you go to see Cantillion you must visit. I gave up sightseeing and hung out there for two days and no regrets fantastic. Great food too!

Interesting...I need to catch up on some of my Spanish craft beer...I know about the great new scene in Italy, but the Spanish thing is new to me. I just normally drink their Sidre.

I am sad that the last time I was in Brussels I wasn't of legal drinking age (or into great beer)...Moeder Lambic is definitely on the short list of places I plan on going next time in Brussels (Cantillon is first, then Delirium Cafe and Le Bier Circus).

That's crazy. Have these people ever heard of Trappist beers?
