I am SO GLAD I went to the Meadows...
All therapy was at some point an experiment...
My father committed suicide, too; I do not blame anyone but him.

Denise, keep up the good work. I was going to Meadows but now will NOT! So typical -- dysfunctional people getting on power trips and claiming altruism. Very similar to AA 12 steppers w/ no brains. And all these knucklehead comments who support Pia are testament to the fact that people seeking help should RUN away, not walk, from this facility. The depositions also attest to their self preserving, dysfunctional, UNHEALTHY narcissism that drives the facility. RUN RUN RUN!!!!

@jeffdtre I am sorry for your loss of two relatives. I lost several young family member in alcohol related accidents & the whole family drifted apart because of alcohol and co-dependency issues that set -in deeper after the deaths. So I know the pain. And yes, anger and blame are huge in the grief process. I will say however that no one is to "blame," not even the one who chooses to end his life. All of us are responsible; the family and social structure is not set up to help those in deep pain

I have had two relatives end there own lives it is sad and it hurts it will always hurt. I am truly saddened by anyone’s choice to end their life and your loss.
It seems to be a natural instinct to try and find someone to blame.
The facts are your brother is the only one to blame for choosing a permanent solution for a temporary problem.
I get it now this is your way of grieving.
may you find peace

Pia Mellody is wise, loving and honest. Regretfully, you cannot institutionalize these virtues. We need more parents, teachers and friends who don't lack the motivation to become more loving. Blaming is not the answer. Love is. It's as simple as that.

I am sorry for the loss of your brother. I hope that the Meadows has made some changes to their policies dictating better protocols for suicidal patients. I am now a psychiatric nurse and a former Meadows patient. I can say that going thru Meadows was good experience. I have been sober from sex addiction for 11 years, 6 months. I deal with patients in various stages of recovery.. Pia Mellody' s work on codependence is incomparable. I use alot of it for groups and in my own life.

It's the perspective of many people. Cancer? I'd much rather go to someone experienced & live, than die with someone who only has a piece of paper. I don't need to ask anyone what my opinion is.
"Beat Her Addictions"?!, it's recoveriING, not recoverED.
I have met pompous ass 'therapists' like you..
It's clear you are jealous of Pia. & that you only want input when it's positive, I see you disabled the ratings. Now you can disable the comments.
Try working on Your issues.

the tail end of your video your videos oooozes with envy
you sound like a cry baby
i suspect Pia would still think you matter no matter what you may try to imply
have you gotten what you needed yet?

My brother was allowed to end his life while under the care of a hospital for which Ms. Mellody takes credit. NO, I am not envious of Ms. Mellody. I DO hold degrees (undergraduate and graduate) and would never consider myself an authority on anything. Clearly, she does. Unfortunately for mental health facilities that do not adequately protect their patients, I'm just getting started. I suggest you visit my web site.

Yes!, Excellent point!! Just because someone has degrees does Not make them worth listening to, Pia Shines above the rest!
Why waste time on therapists who haven't taken there own inventories.
So many barely have any books smarts, and zero life experience.
Pia is the guru of love addiction recovery!

If this is your perspective, which I respect as your own, then I guess this would apply to cancer survivors, too? So, if one has cancer, let a survivor diagnose it for you and come up with a treatment plan? I guess education and credentials don't mean anything, do they? You may want to ask some legitimate therapists/psychiatrists how they feel about your perspective. One's who HAVE studied and know what they're talking about. Also, I wonder if Pia has beat her addictions?
