  • @zkxlz - PPG junk? Not in the least. When mixed properly with the required chemicals for their rated temperatures over quality primers/sealers.....PPG is just as tough and durable as DuPont and BASF paint lines. Of course you have to compare apples with apples. Like DuPont, PPG has high end products and economy lines.

  • I don't know if I will get a comment on this but I'll try................hopefully from Kevin

Anyway I painted my 36 with acrylic enamel thinking it would be softer and not be likely to chip but I'm finding out that it chips easily.........can I do anything to prevent it from chipping with impact?

I was putting in my windows and chipped the roof rail. I know I should have shot urethane or basecoat/clearcoat right?

  • 8hrs

  • I have watched this damn thing 20 times trying to figure out if he is using the dressed side of the razor or the burr side. i have been using the outside of the U as he calls it butt it has the burrs on it and it still worked pretting good.........

  • Must be that cheesy PPG clear...junk

  • just painted my 36 and used your razor technique on the fender ......I did the old fashioned technique of sanding between coats because I had so much orange peel on the first three coats..........the fender turned out so good I decided to do the cab a front end again too,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,looks alot better now but still have some color sanding to do and have about four small runs right behind the cab.........QUESTION...........How long do you have to wait to use the razor technique?

  • My jaw was wide open when I saw a razor blade being used but I came out nice when it was done. Love watching you on the trucks show I thought you were the host on that show.

  • Thanks for the video clip! It is going to save me time fixing my signature flow adjustment meter. Later Oregon

  • I call it a signature series paint jog. :)

Scraping out runs like that can come back an bite you in the arse, because those areas take longer to cure so shrink time will differ with a run than the area without. Runs can reappear as the paint continues to cure.

  • Thats not a paint run, its a clear run.
