Please, everyone, Google "TOMS bad aid", and read.

It's interesting to note the (lack of) people of color featured/involved in this. Did you see a single black person who wasn't a "poor suffering child" in some African country? I didn't.

Also, with the snazzy editing and typography culminating in crowds of young white people, this is eerily similar to KONY 2012.

Seriously though people, use Google.

I'm just curious, where is this information? They're not really specific on their site and they don't ever have like, names of people they employ. Instead of giving away shoes to the people directly, they should give them to shoe merchants, who can sell the shoes at a very cheap cost since they got them for free (from TOMS) and then this would allow people to get cheap shoes and kickstart the economy. :) Just an idea...

It amazes me how some people make comments saying that they have shoes in African countries and other third world countries and everyone can afford them. I just wonder how long they have lived in one of these countries to know that. I lived in El Salvador for ten years and it was truly heart-breaking to see so many children barefoot on hot gravel, stones, and filth. You do not ho a day being there without seeing a child barefoot. Some of these people barely had the money for food; many children
