  • the contra is two octaves lower than the concert flute. from low b to high a is the comfortable range, so two octaves and a 7th. the fingerings in the high register are a bit tricky, though.

    in some of my music you will hear very high sounds - i produce them with a pitch shifter. i use it for playing an octave or even two octaves higher.
