  • Me too,never heared about her before.What a powerful,wonderful voice i've been missing!She's the best

  • the voice sounds splendid to me.all you arti farti people out there who find it easy to crticise ,let me tell you that " Ombra mai fu " aint easy to sing , and she handled it with great ease and a remarkable clarity and steadyness in her voice Oh and you wont have any trouble hearing her in the theatre unlike the Flemings of this worlde

  • I thought "soave", "cara ed amabile" are very soft emotions, which are truely expressed in a piano or pianissimo and not necessarly showing what a wonderful rhich and big voice one has. For that I put this other version, in which the singer risks to go into pianissimi. Xerxes is relaxing under a tree. He is not showing in this moment how magnificent he is. It is an intimate scene.

  • @ranhat2 wow... I totally concede that, she clearly has some power left in her (or did in 1994). Stunning.

  • For a surprise and opinion-revision, pull up her 1994 Turandot (San Fran. Opera) on youtube for a revelation. A spectacular, best I've seen, including her Met performance with P. Domingo.

  • EXCELENTE. DANIEL, BRAZIL.

  • Have any of you listened to Kathleen Ferrier's interpretation. She's a contralto and brings all the reverence and richness that this aria requires.

  • Aw what a truly gorgeous tone, so rich. Hadn't heard her before this ans my head HAD BEEN ubder the sand, to any potential spammers :D

  • whoops, I just posted my version... :o) I'll start receiving flames, I am sure ;) hehe!
