Thanks guys. That was an excellent analysis. I always had the question in the back of my mind about trying to get that sound as you know Hank Marvin, ie "Just ask Hank how he did it". I understand now that maybe he is not too sure himself now.

I am using a Vox AC15 with the Celestion greenback and have a question on the relative volume levels on the top boost and master channels but I will contact you via email.

Yes Gary Taylor was a member of The Herd. Also he played with the Hank Wangford band and was involved in Baker Street with Gerry Rafferty.
