One of our Dharma friends was advised to do several pujas and offer Buddha statues on behalf of her brother. Here in our Dharma store Kechara Paradise, Rinpoche demonstrates how we can prepare beautiful Buddha statues to offer to others for their practice. Full story about offering Buddhas is on http://kecharahouse.com/main.php?var_lang=en&sect=photo&photo=p0111

  • HE Tsem Tulku Rinpoche really is creative especially with making offerings to the Buddha and helping others to create this affinity with the Buddha. Wonderful! I wonder who is this Buddha meant for?

  • How auspicious! The five-colored khatas represent the five Dyani Buddhas, which represents our five aggregates purified.

  • I bought my Lama Tsong Khapa Statue from Kechara Paradise for Rinpoche when I first meet him. The buddha statue in Kechara Paradise are beautiful and a lot of different buddhas, not expensive too.

  • What a wonderful way to collect merit through the body of a Buddha. I guess our best way at this time as we are lay people and we do so little to collect merit.

  • I agree very much, we have to pray to the quality of the Buddha statue embodies and not the statue. That is why also I think we should prostrate to pay respect when we are in front of one.

  • thats why we only pray to the qualities of the statue embodies and not praying to the statue as some people might think.

  • Of course we treat statues as real Buddha is in front of us, thats when we practice awareness and mindfulness when we are offering water and cleaning the altar.

  • "OMG you swing over the Buddha..." Rinpoche is so respectful to Buddha statue... JP was swinging the colorful khatas over the Buddha statue and Rinpoche passed that remark... Well for us this would seem like 'okay'... Haha... no wonder Rinpoche said in one of his video, if you treat Buddha statues like statues, then you are praying to statues. If we treat them like Buddhas, then they are Buddhas... it is all in our minds...

  • Didn't realise we can do so much with a Buddha statue as a form of offering. How creative!

  • Rinpoche is so meticulous. Well, I guess it's special because it is a statue of Buddha which represents the wisdom being Himself. And every respect must be given to superior being.
