Sweet and Sour Meatballs is an easy, home made version of the classic Chinese Restaurant meal. Home made meatballs are browned and smothered in a delicious sauce featuring pineapple and capsicum. Served on a bed of rice or noodles, this dish will become a quick family favourite - give it a go!

RECIPE FACT SHEET

INGREDIENTS IN THIS DISH:

MEATBALLS:

750g of Pork Mince (or any meat you like)
1 Cup of Fresh Breadcrumbs
1 Small Onion (finely chopped)
1 Egg (lightly beaten)

SAUCE:

400g Can of Pineapple Pieces in Juice
2 Tablespoons of Corn Flour (Corn Starch)
1 Tablespoon of Brown Sugar
2 Tablespoons of White Vinegar
1 Tablespoon of Soy Sauce
1 Tablespoon of Tomato Ketchup
1 Teaspoon of Minced Garlic (about 1 clove)
1 Red Capsicum (aka Bell Pepper)
1 Cup of Water


Preparation Time: About 20 minutes
Cooking Time: About 40 minutes


SERVES 4

ALL MEASUREMENTS GIVEN ARE AUSTRALIAN STANDARD METRIC
(Look up Google for a conversion chart if using Imperial)

  • @onepotchefshow Do you have to use onions? Because I don't care for onions that much.

  • @MrSammyrocks4life You can leave them out if you like, but it will reduce the dishes overall flavor ;)

  • Need to show how you do the noodles

  • @FSBlueapocalypse There is usually instructions on the packet, but generally just place them in a bowl of boiling water for a few minutes until they separate from each other ;)

  • i can't eat onions :/ what can i use instead ?
