THE DIVIDE/LA DIVISION - MINI DOCUMENTARY

The Divide/La División is our a community-based theater piece. It is the story of the life and death of a border in three movements. The allegorical life of the border and what it does to the people who encounter it is a reflection of reality. This piece will used film and live performance to examine the concept of borders and crossing borders. The Divide is a bilingual piece created by an ensemble of community members, facilitated and structured through the directors.

The project was part of the countywide Performance Sonoma festival, coordinated by the Arts Council of Sonoma County and Community Foundation Sonoma County and funded by the James Irvine Foundation. The festival featured the work of 12 diverse Sonoma County arts organizations on the theme of "Crossing Borders."
