I'm a little annoyed with parents complaining about violence in a video game. POINT: Pay attention.
Are video games violent? Yes.
But it it up to the parent to review the content of the game before allowing their kid to play it. Banning violent video games is just going to make people angry. Plus, you can't completely ban violent video games. People DO own them.

The Ratings system does not prevent negligent parents from purchasing content that is unsuitable for children, just as the 'do not drink while pregnant' sign on alcohol does not always prevent expecting mothers from drinking. The parents are at fault for any informed problems that may arise from drinking alcohol while pregnant, so why are the parents not at fault for the perceived 'twisted' mindset that apparently may arise from over-stimulation via video games?

@XxAndyIsMySaviourxX I highly recommend God of War. Not just because of the gore, but the gameplay is very addictive.
