Scenes including Nola, Quint, Amanda Spaulding, Mark Evans, Mona/Rebecca, Alan, Phillip, Mike & Hope Bauer and the Reardons. Includes the scenes on the cliff along with the deaths. This is Part 1
@Bliss44 I so agree I used to watch this all the time with my grandmother from the late 70's into the early 90's it is still hard to believe this show is gone and you are right especially during the 70' and 80's era I think Gl really was the best soap.
though convoluted, all the mysteries were resolved, culminating in these clips. i agree, Marland can't be topped, but the story was hardly ridiculous or outlandish. it was always about who was really Sean & who was really Sam. Quinton & Mark were each other's McGuffins. Mark was heir to half of Spaulding. the room on the 3rd floor was Marland's idea & is an homage to 'Rebecca'. i really don't get yr comments to be honest.
I didn't realize Phillip was already an adult while Amanda was still on the show. Were they close then? And who are those two women in the "already in progress" shot with Alan? Is one of them Hope? That shot is so unflattering.
They were near the end of the VERRRY convoluted mystery which was begun at the end of Doug Marland's rein. No idea where he was going with this but it became ridiculous and outlandish the Marland's successor tried to reinvent the story. You've never seen a show so unravel with a change of head writer than Guiding Light right after Marland.
I think this storyline's ending was during the time in 1983 (April/May) when there was a lot of violence in Lebanon and the Middle East in general (not that much has changed).
