At our school's "Fine arts day" I was leading sessions where we used lego bricks to make mosaics - one dimensional, unlike the "normal" lego building process. To get the kids excited, I built a 5 foot long lego battleship using thousands upon thousands of bricks. In the end it weighed 30 to 40 pounds. Then constructed a crude catapult using a sawhorse, a very long board, a milk crate, and of course, a ladder to jump off, to provide the energy for the destruction. Practiced it a couple times with a cardboard box with some stuff in it so that it weighed a similar amount and was able to launch it pretty good in the yard. With hundreds of kids "drumming" a drumroll on the bleachers, the ship was launched skyward with such force that it actually hit the roof of the gym before smashing into the floor. The kids loved it!
Great Video Tazio. I wish I could have seen it live!! St. Ed's is the Best!!!
