  • Where's the music from?

  • @kailiki From a retro brick game

  • This is really spectacular. All your pictures seem to be! Really refreshing to see something different, thankyou for that. If you're not a published illustrator already, I really think it'd be possible.

  • @YummyBananaFish Thank you- looking into it.

  • Wow, this sketch reminded me of an old PC adventure game called Inherit the Earth. I love it! I'd also like to know the name of the retro brick game you mentioned. Keep up the good work!

  • your art is kind of like robert crumb's artwork.. NICE!

  • @vollsticks I totally dig what you are saying. That is what I specialize in actually. "Visual handwriting is a term that I refer it as too. Let me know if you want any drawing material, like nib's, brushes etc. I can point you to some seller's on ebay where I get my material's from. BTW, practice, practice and do not give up when anyone uses inks and water colour. I know first hand, and the result's will be amazing and one becomes happy and satisfied after each work.

  • @dinasaur2 Just noticed I spelled it wrong-it's Billy DeBeck! But yeah, I love to look at comic art and really ANALYSING the "visual handwriting"--I know that sounds ridiculously pretentious...being able to work out what the artist did with his hand, how he held his pen or brush etc, to produce a certain mark...trying to replicate that mark myself, whether it be neat, regimented "feathering" or a bold stroke delineating the outline of a character...I love modern "alternative" cartooning too.

  • @vollsticks Thank you. I am glad you noticed the old techniques of some of those artists' you mentioned. George Herriman and Segal. I will have a look at Barney Google by Billie BeDeck too etc. Thanks!

  • @dinasaur2 Wow! Krazy Kat is amazing, George Herriman was, in my opinion, a genius! Have you checked out Barney Google by Billy BeDeck? Yoe! Books recently published a gorgeous hardback collection and it's just wonderful-gorgeous, gorgeous cartooning where you can see the artist's hand at work, each stroke of the nib is so full of life I can feel it on a really visceral level! Those old E.C Segar strips are amazing as well. And I recommend Gasoline Alley by Frank King, too! Loving your work!
