Absolutely exquisite playing! Szigeti was wonderful - impeccable intonation, smooth even tone and the delicacy this piece needs. Thanks for posting!

I love Mendelssohn but what's with all the advertising going on? That's deplorable and is to be avoided from viewing as it certainly does not add to the beauty of the music. Is this a case of poor judgment or taste? Am puzzled.

Beecham is the marvelous collaborator; there are few conductors more musical than he. It is instructive to hear Szigeti's use of portamento; I love it! After all, this is ROMANTIC music! I am so weary of people trying to "clean up" this music and superimpose 21st Century style onto Romantic music. I bet these clinicians can't even get it up!

Perfect tempo! Singing, long lines and delightfully appropriate slides.I also like his use of "white" sound on occasion. No vibrato is yet another color among his many vibrato speeds. Just wonderful.
