Well, it slows the heart rate but I don't think you can take enough to make it stop. I wouldn't try to fing out though. An overdose will probably make you sleep for a while. Stick with the right dose.

Since I started taking this I have been having the strangest dreams. Also can it add to weight gain? Ive been eating less and exercising and still put on a few more pounds. Thanks.

I take 50mg of Atenolol once daily for high BP. Prior to taking this I was on 50mg of Metoprolol which did not seem to be working. At one stage I had BP of 190 / 100, after coming of a drug called Risperidal. The Metoprolol brought this down to ~150 / 80 in the right arm and ~140 / 80 in the left arm. My BP is currently hovering around 110 / 80 in the left and 125 / 80 in the right. I also take 100mg of Asprin to help protect my cardiovascular system, and prevent having a stroke.

I have a Question for this pill. I'm 26 and for years I have had where my blood pressure will be 160 to 180 over 100 to 110 and the heart rate well over a Hundred a minute when I get in my Anxiety Panic state like a Hospital sets me off for some reason. Well a year ago my doctor decided to put me on 25MG once a day of this pill. I have felt bad and having many irregular heart beats with it as well and tired all the time! So I winged my self off this pill and started on Raw Garlic everyday!
