Music: The original composition written by Mike Beever was called 'The Farmer' and appears on a 4-track EP recorded in New Zealand, December 2010. The four-track EP was licensed to Extreme Music who promote it to ad agencies through their Production library. You can download this EP by googling 'Mike Beever The Leipzig Sessions'. [thanks to crashglobal for this]

Also known as 'Fated Breath' by Mike Beever on 'Piano Works' (Extreme Music; DCD071).

The melody used in this advert is altered and, if you listen carefully, a small string ensemble accompanies the piano.

Voiceover: Sir Michael Gambon

  • Delighted to announce that the sheet music/manuscript for The Farmer/Fated Breath will be available to download from Sept 1st 2011. Mike is working with musician/score arranger Craig Duffy to transcribe the entire 3 minute piece. Mike is also recording a follow up 4 track EP to accompany the Leipzig Sessions and this will be released in the NZ Spring.

  • @crashglobal Excellent news!

  • @crashglobal where do i download the sheet music from?!

  • @filsell08 What a great story!

  • I recently found out that my Gt Gt Uncle was a sprinter with Willie Applegarth at the London Polytechnic Harriers in 1914 and sometimes "ran him close"! Willie once had to miss a meet because of "a slight injury caused by looking for a gas leak with a naked light"!! How ironic his image should end up in a commercial for the supply of gas.............

  • @NNomad I know the piano part of this is 'The Farmer' by Mike Beever but i couldn't find sheet music for it, could someone help???? xx

  • @missbiccie I LOVE THAT MAN!!

Every time that advert comes on I just look for his little proud face :D
