I had begun learning this defense some time ago, but never got firm hold of it so we adopted a different clinch defense for the last fight. I didn't execute that one correctly either, but here Master K reintroduces a leveraged arm clinch defense. As with everything in the clinch, it's timing and quick movements. Here if you can push the face from the outside and swing the body around you can trap the arm and leverage the opponent down. As with much that Master K teaches, there are many fine points to a move in order to make it most effective. In the case of this clinch defense all parts have to work together and quickly. He makes it seem so easy.

  • Not exactly sure what MasterK was asking there. I wonder why he didn't simply show what he meant. Did he mean he wanted a jumping knee with your legs switching in mid air so that your feet land fully in opposite stance so as to maximise your power? That is, if kneeing with right, jump right knee (both feet fully clear the ground) and land with left foot well behind right foot? I guess you were both tired anyway.

  • @utubesqueeze I think it's a matter of the knees pointing in opposite directions to open the hips and then you get a full rotation from jumping both feet up in order to slam the back hip forward.

  • Wow sylvie, master k was working you hard that day, lol!, he wanted you to fly up with that knee on the last part, ya work hard girl, you definately put your work in, ya looked a bit tired, but that is muay thai right?

  • @ISGOV If you're not ready to pass out or puke, it's not Muay Thai training :)

  • I love you...

  • She's definitely got some skill. Impressive sharp power.

I don't know if she ever got it "right" or not, but that last shot just might have knocked the wind out of him. Not that I think he'd admit it lol.

  • Hey don't worry if you didn't get the technique. With time you develop your own fighting style because we all fight our own way. If you ever get frustrated with something just realize that the art is there for you and that you are not there for the art.; meaning that you'll get better results if you pick and choose which techniques to use in your arsenal and which technique to discard, as opposed to trying to learn every technique in muay thai

  • Heheh, I can feel the tension in the room between you two. But that sometimes happens under duress and it's natural. You just gotta focus and persevere, which I can tell that you're doing just that. Keep on doing the good training! Master K is an amazing man, especially to be able to move like that at his age.

  • watching ur videos i really wish master K would be my teacher
