  • @zensplash So how come you no can speak English, ha . . ?

    An interesting film.

The two best lines are "Who you got waiting for you?" and "I thought I was alone again."

Kayo will be missed, but she did her masterpiece, the film that will be timeless.

  • i've watched this in 7th grade for hawaiian history! I loved it! :D

  • Does anybody know the ending theme of this movie? I have watched it and I loved the ending song, but I haven't found anywhere, to download it.

I hope somebody could help me. Thanks

  • jess401-It's in Japanese and English, w/subtitles throughout.

  • is this movie in english?

  • I had the great honor to be one of the actors in this film...Mifune is indeed the man on the cart and the 'orator' of the silent movie. He loved the script - how it showed a woman with her own mind - and it did it for (virtually) nothing (he used to live on Kauai) . This film won the Sundance 1995 Audience Award. I played the young Scottish Plantation manager (nice guy:-) I recognise all of the crew. Kayo became a good friend...such an unfortunate turn of events and untimely death it seemed.

  • I think mifune is the guy wearing the light colored kimono riding the wagon "waving" the fan. He looks different from when he appears in samurai movies.

  • Picture Bride is a hidden gem one of my favorite films. First saw it at SIFF. The director was able to get the best actors and cinematographer to work on a shoe-string budget because the script was so powerful. There's a long list of sponsors at the end because everyone in Hawaii pitched in to bring the film to fruition. I later heard that the director drowned in a swimming pool accident, a real tragedy. I think this was only her first or second film and she did such a brilliant job.

  • oh wow thank you
