@LRoyz You are stupid. If you look at the instructions on the Arctic Silver website, he applied the paste exactly as it shows. But yeah, you shouldn't lift the heatsink.

did you clean the processor before applying the AS5? Doesn't look like it... You also used too much paste, 1 little drop is more then enough. The actual CPU underneath the IHS is so small that it doesn't matter that the entire IHS isn't covered. Also you risk shorting your motherboard by applying so damn much.

@Mackatax I've had nothing but good results with AC5.

@Mackatax Took 5c off of my temps compared to AC MX-2.....

Arctic Silver 5 is a total fuckin scam, don't even bother. Worthless paste.
-
@olsenrob the tinting is optional, it's just to lessen the break-in period... as it clearly says in the instructions...

He takes the cooler off and puts it back on. I reach for the monitor yelling "NOOO!"

@tommy714pham Absolutely not! If you apply it to both surfaces you will get bubbles in the compound and this will REDUCE your cooling ability significantly. If you were supposed to apply it to both the cpu and the heatsink then the Arctic Silver site would tell you so. Now who's the noob? Yep, that would be you. Please don't give out useless and incorrect information. His only mistake was that he appeared to lift the heatsink once the compound was applied which also creates bubbles.
