We welcome Floyd Amason to our meetup. Floyd only recently started playing the ukulele, but is a talented musician who can play many different instruments and has spent over 30 years in gospel music, touring with his twin brother all around the country.

  • @bethstillsings that's a wonderful story, Beth. It is special to still have your Dad's original uke. Not sure what area of the country you live, but you are invited to come our meetups in Richmond, Va. We meet at Sam Ash Music (Broad St.) the 2nd. Tuesday of each month. All the best!

    -Ron

  • I love this! And had no idea there was a ukelele society. I still have my dad's first ukelele with its old battered case -- he got it when he was about 4 years old, circa 1927. When we went to the NY World's Fair in 1965, they had ukeleles in the Hawaiian pavilion. Daddy played every one of them to find the one that "fretted true" -- and paid the whopping sum (then) of $30 for it.. It's made of light-colored wood, and the body doesn't curve.
