  • hi. i got burgled recently, and they took the control satelites. however, im going to egt this system again because its cheap and im a student...

do yuo know if ill be able to rip out the guts of the old sub, wire it in series to the new sub and run it off that? twice the thump i was thinking...dunno if its possible.

    cheers

  • Im slightly confused about how you want it set up..Are both subs powered separately or one running both? i dont think the box has the space to fit another set of guts inside..but two stock subs running together would thump pretty hard..do that!

  • as im sure youve guessed, im not very up to date with the info!!!

as far as im aware, there is a little amp inside the sub box, but i dont know how its connected or anything.

so id be ripping out the guts from the old sub box and just running some more cable from that speaker into the wiring of the new one... possibly....

any help would be great! cheers

  • ahhh! well,i would keep the amp inside the old sub so it keeps the enclosure semi sealed...and just run the positive and negative to the new sub...taking out the amp would leave an open space behind and cause too much air to escape..Reducing bass :D i like the idea of stereo bass!!

  • How in the world did you do that? And how where you able to paint the speak and subwoofer?

  • clever!

  • very cool!

  • Dont forget to upload vids of it :D i'd love to see :D!

  • You can get a car amp and pc power supply for around $80 on ebay :D and destroy your house with its brutality :) and you can age your stock logitech sub by playing bassy songs and giving it time to relax, then repeating...you'll find the bass gets deeper and rumbles more the older and more experienced the sub is!! its the upside of logitech, they surprise you :D

  • ahh...well,these subs have relatively low rms power, and a 1000watt sub would need heaps more rms power to get clean bass...so yeah its all about power :D , the sub is simply way too strong for the tiny engine the x-530 has...i suggest getting a pc power supply from ebay ( $40) for 860watts and a chinese car amp with the same 800 watts and following the tutorial videos on youtube :D then just use your x-530 for treble, something it does very well!!!

  • @miken16 i would wire them in parallel for even more bass. and if i were you, i would just unsolder the old sub, and wire it to the new one in parallel.
