El Caballo y El Picaflor ~ Horse & Hummingbird ~ Vasti Michel

Vasti Michel is an author and composer of popular music of Latin American and Chilean roots.
Her school of life is the natural sounds that people bring [Araucanía Region] the tradition of singing the payadores and popular poets of her land.

Vasti dedicates this earthy song/chant to Welcome the New Year in the Southern hemisphere..

This is quite a liberal translation of the Spanish in Vasti Michels El Caballo y El Picaflor. So that when you view the video and the wonderful illustrations, you can get an idea or the meaning of the notations. I say a liberal translation as opposed to a literal translation for the sake of poetic licence [mine] :)
