  • wow how many moa shooting 900 yds that bullet looks like its about half the height of the pole at 1:54

  • @Bly86 actually a 2 MOA group at 900 yards is an 18in group, which not to sound like a badass because im not, is not that good. anyways great shooting keep up the good work

  • Hey zipyote watch "7.62 X 51 Nato or .308 Win. Are they the same ?"

  • @westexpipeliner I agree. Does not look like 900 yards to me. It may be but the camera makes it look like 500.

  • Remember Boys, 7.62 NATO and .308 are a little diffrent. You can shoot 7.62 NATO out of a .308 but You do not want to shoot .308 out of the M24 chamberd in the 7.62 NATO. The commercialy loaded .308 will build way to much presure in the M24 NATO. You can load the 168 gr. BTHP to 2700 fps and it will handal 927 meters fine.

  • Mr. Woods, Sergeant Gilliland was using the M24 sniper rifle much like yours however his ammo was the M118 loaded with the Sierra 175 Matchking not the 168 Matchking. I have similar equipment to yours and I have shot 1000 yards and 875 yards with the 168 and I have the targets to prove yaw at 875 and keyhole at 1000 yards.

  • @westexpipeliner explain why Jim Gilliland shot someone at 1367 yards in 2005 using a M24 chambered in 7.62 NATO or 308 WIN

  • Not 900 yds! The the Sierrra 168 Match King bullet used in the 308 Federal match ammo will not be supersonic at 900 yds. It will go into the the transonic region of flight and therefore become ballistacilly unstable and begin to yaw then soon it will go into full keyhole (pointy end won't be first) and accuracy will deteriorate. Your equipment and ammo is good but not for 900 yds. If you want to shoot 900 plus yds use the SMK 175 it was designed for it, the boat tail has different angle.

  • Excellent rifle. I don't have access to 900 yards, but I often shoot at a measured 300 yard range. My best group (5 shots) so far came in at .73 inches (at 300 yds) using a micrometer. The gun is stock, not even a trigger adjustment. Base and rings are Badger Ordinance, scope is a SuperSniper 16x, ammo is surplus 118LR 173 grain SMK. The same gun shoots 5 Prvi Match 175 gr into a 1.3" hole at the same range. I could ethically take a kill shot on a whitetail deer at 800 yards. I'm in love.

  • rood rifel eh.
