when i try the UV mapping i have it selected but when i split the screen the UV mapping bit doesnt show up pink like yours? what do i need to do?

I get black shadows on sackboy's arms and recalculating / flipping the normals doesn't work. What could this be?

I love your tutorials everytime i watch them I understand full because u speak clearlly and u dont rush youre voice its at a nice slow pace and u sont go throught everything clearlly u dont click on that and that u tell us what your doing i could even learn from your tut without watching. I could just hear it and understand. You have the best tuts on youtube in my opinioin much better than Super3boy and Definattly SageDread he does the worst he makes it as complicated as hell. WELL DONE:)

Just an odd question, what did I do wrong if the leg detaches itself from the rest of the body, I get the star kind of thing in the UV Map.
Yes, I went all the way down to the end of the foot.

if the leg looks attached untill you move it then select the entire model and press w then remove doubles. else if you wat to bridge a gap between the body and the leg select 2 edges tyou want to connect and press f and it will creat a face. you will probly have funny looking black stuff in there now which are incorrect normals press n+shift.
