Jeannie C. Riley performs a song she recorded back in 1970 which she debuted on the Ed Sullivan show. "Oh Singer" went to NUMBER ONE on the country charts and #74 on the pop charts.
One of my favorite songs that my dear cousin, Jeannie C. Riley, ever sang! Some don't realize that she was way more than just her hit song "Harper Valley PTA." She has several songs that she wrote herself and that epitomize her real life in Anson, Texas, before she became famous. Today, October 19th, is Jeannie's birthday. Happy Birthday my beautiful cousin...your beauty goes way more than just your outer shell; your soul is beautiful as well!
Thank you Jerry for posting. I never heard a bad song from Jeannie C. This song has always been a favorite of mine. I love Jeannie C & want to thank you for all of the support you have given Jeannie throughout the years. Rob Wausau
@WM31985 My respects... and sorry for my mispelling errors in my writing, I love this ballad and what I said was Viva The Beautiful Queen Rose from Texas, JCR!!!
WOOOOW, this tune is really exceptional!!! If I were a US native I'd be proud to have such a tremendous artist as Jeannie C Riley, but still she got my love and I am grateful to her universal music hardly equal to so many genres of trivia art in the world. Who said "Jeannie C rocks" is perfectly alright, I's add: She cannot be compared, she's unique and she rules in popular music today as in the past and future days!!! Desde México, amor mi para la Reina más Hermosa de Texas!!! (Bp)
