Along the banks of the Nile, the humble papyrus plant was used to create a bureaucratic efficiency and cultural sophistication previously unknown to mankind

Here is what i don't like about these documentary. They keep using people from europe to play the ancient egyptians. It puzzle me until this day why they keep using foreigners to play the role of ancient egyptians. Didn't herodotus said the egyptians were black people? I mean come on most people aren't stupid anymore. The ancient egyptians would of look alot like nubians,ethiopians, eritreans and somalians. These are modern north east africans people. Not like the current modern day egyptians!

not everything herodotus said is true in fact the modern egypions are the same like the ancient egyptians and you can see that wikipedia article( Egyptions ) and you can see wikipedia Mediterranean race

Sorry to break your bubbles my friend. But you're wrong. Modern day egyptians are not the same as ancient egyptians. It's like saying modern day american is the same as ancient americans. Modern day egyptians especially up the northern part are basically descendant of greco-roman-syrian-turk arabs population. Only some in upper egypt have connection to ancient egyptians through their dna. But eurocentric need to stop make this claim now.

My friend i did. Almost all the time. I use to work with one sum yrs ago. he was a electrician. I was the carpenter. Had he not told me he was an egyptians i would of think he was some arab dude. Plus couple yrs ago when i used to do delivery. Like drive trucks for general electric company. I happen to deliver a refridgerator for a guy. I notice his accent. I asked the dude if he was from spain. He told me he was egyptians. So i know i have seen them. They look like palestians or white.

Just because they have dark skin does not meant hey are black. They are like Indians or north Africans, north Africans aren't "black". Look at the facial features of the Queen Nefertiti or many of the other Pharaohs, they simply don't look black. Yes, it's true they are dark enough to be close to blacks but that's just like saying Indians are black.

That's what people made the top comment? "nefertiti and other pharaohs..." big lipped and broad nosed Akhenaton was the pharaoh, she was his wife. "They were like Indians...", Indians don"t have "wooly-hair", "more tightly curled than any other nation", and Indians CERTAINLY don't have Somali/Ethiopian DNA, "tropical body plans", or Nilo-Saharan dialects and played NO ethnic or culture role in the development of the pre-dynastic A-Group culture, conclusively linked to early pharaonic Egypt. thanks for the upload... lol no matter what video i go involving ancient egypt theres always people trolling that theyre tanned whites or blacks... never anybody like the top comment say hey theyre indian... thing was egypt was a melting pot type nation like usa... they have the proof in theyre paintings u see tanned indian like ppl blacks whites... so to end the arguement... they were a multiculture and had a little of everything so ur all wrong theyre mixed.. yet u still argue the paintings

@asilahvista the former lower egyptian kingdom was black, as nubian really, when merged with the upper kingdom i bet there was some mixing. comparing to modern day egyptians is silly, the country was flooded by arabs for 15 centuries.. i'm sure there are a few thousand individuals left who have 'real' egyptian features, as far as that goes, but to claim they were related to indians seems very far fedged. the genome project seems to prove it was the other way around

It is a world known fact that Ancient Egyptians were as dark as the Southern Sudanese and the reason Egyptians are lighter skinned is as result of Arab settlement from about 700AD.Let everyone recognise that Egypt is among Africa's Pearls and Africans too have done wonderful amazing things and are not as backward as always potrayed.Thanks though for the video is is very informative.
