Windows 7 Release Candidate
If you already have Windows 7 through MSDN, TechNet, or Software Assurance, you do not need to download this trial. Existing TechNet Plus subscribers, ...
technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/dd353205.aspx

Microsoft has experienced mixed results with its ad campaigns. A Seinfeld-Gates pairing was panned in the tech press, but its Laptop Hunters series had a positive impact on consumers value perception of Microsoft products (even if Apple did insist that one ad be changed).

Come to mention it, who can forget that bizarre projectile vomiting ad for Internet Explorer (Internet Explorer) 8? Microsoft later attempted to remove the ad, after it had been shared widely around the web.

With the new operating systems retail release scheduled for next month, its time for the Windows 7 ads to start rolling out. Microsofts strategy: kill with cuteness. An ad released this week features the return of Kylie, who shows us how simple it is to make slideshows on her new laptop.

Will the strategy work? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

  • well, the clue was in my post, although not clear. i'm a web developer, so i have to test a lot on ie. its not what i normally use, but that doesnt mean i can ignore it unfortunately.

  • @MrAshleySheridan I think that you use IE too much. I didn't know any of that, since I never use it and don't give a shit.

  • I downloaded Windows 7 from

    d()wnl()adblinks . c-o-m

  • Why do they even make advertisements about features they stole from Mozilla? because they can or because they have to?

Well Firefox is heading for 30% in the European browser market, even without any TV ads. :)

We will see what users say when the software they decide to use is not allowed to run on a DRM'ed system like Vista or Win7 because they refuse to pay MS the ransom money.

  • Superman couldnt fix IE8 for me

  • IE8 not ftw at all! Hasn't got anything that other browsers can do better. Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera, Konqueror, all have much better standards compliance, have less security issues over their browser history, and often lead in features. Tabbed browsing? IE was last to catch up. Anti phishing measures? Again, IE was last. Hell, IE can't even display websites consistently from version to version, forcing web developers to spend ages 'fixing' them for each version of IE.

  • IE8 ftw

i used on windows 7 and it's fantastic

(Well on windows xp on the other side i use Mozzila firefox)

    so...WINDOWS 7 goes with Internet explorer 8

and WINDOWS XP goes with Mozzila firefox 8

and Vista hehe with Google Chrome!

  • Def IE8, I didn't expect it.

  • FAIL FIREFOX FTW

  • ??????
