Mothra came into being in 2000 with Piotr Koryzma (voc), Daniel Szwed (drums), Andrzej Burzynski (bass) and Pawel Stefan Rosiak (gtr) on board. After the first months of their existence, the band recorded their first promo single, entitled 'Sugar'01'. After that, the musicians focused on touring and writing new songs, which appeared on 2004's 'Demo CD' - six-tracks EP, recorded by the band itself. It wasn't an awesome sounding material with dazzling production, but even without it, listeners could find the kind of energy, which is rarely presented by other bands, blended with mathematic and still, melodies. The following years were just about playing lot of gigs and meeting a lot more interesting and inspiring people, who helped the band to realize some of their ideas. It was Mothra's breaking period, when the material for their full length debut album has been composed. 'Planet Decibelian' was released on May, 20th, 2008, by a young polish label named Red Swallow. It contains 11 brutal sounding - math combined songs which receive enthusiastic reviews at all the places of appearance. The band is touring constantly with the most recognized and appreciated bands appearing nationwide (Napalm Death, Pelican, Modern Life is War, Maroon, Suffocation, Born From Pain, Omission, High On Fire, Nyia, just to name a few), working on a "one of the best live acting chords in polish area" headline. The beginning of year 2008 was the time of release of video images of Technological Death and Death Walks Slowly. In the autumn of 2008, the band recorded seven tracks with a renowned producer, Szymon Czech (Antigama, Blindead, Third Degree, Nyia, Unsun) for their second full-length Dyes to be released in the Spring of 2009 by Selfmadegod Records. The music of Mothra will definitely appeal to the fans of Dillinger Escape Plan, Converge or Burnt By The Sun.
