the domestic ferret mostly does not like swimming but its cousin the black footed ferret who is an endangered species loves to swim they are related to otters

my ferret has a strong disliking for water though i haven't dare try putting her near a larger body of it than her bathing bucket she poops at the beginning of most bathes so i have to start her off in there :(

From what I see, this ferret doesn't seem to mind the water. And as long as there is someone to pick it up should it start to flounder, I see no reason not to let the thing swim. Though I have to agree with one of the last comments, the water will dry out it's skin, so go ahead and swim, but not too often!
