My tips for travelling to Japan are at:
http://www.genkienglish.net/genkijapan/traveljapan.htm

From Narita airport, getting a bus to Tokyo (around one hour) is usually better than the train if you don't speak Japanese.

Richard

  • how much does the bus costs richard? im planning to go to japan but i guess the taxi is very expensive isn´t it?

  • Oh yeah don't even think about a taxi!!! I think the bus is just a couple of thousand yen.

  • I want to see sushi from McDonalds! That is my goal if I ever go to Tokyo is to eat sushi at McDonalds. I know, it is goofy, but that is me :D

  • No sushi in McD's! We do have Terriyaki though, I'll put it on the list to film!

  • I was there on a layover... brings back memories... thanks. Can you eat some okinomiyaki? I want to see that... and go to some ramen restaurants...

  • here you go for okonomiyaki: search for video vv3AH3DDyx8

Ramen I've got some Sapporo and Hakata ramen videos to come soon!

  • Hi, i am travelling to Japan and upon arrival at Narita airport will head straight down to Kyoto. Whats the most cost effective way? considering buying Seishun Juhachi Kippu. please tips on getting around etc. ty

  • @maquahuitl I agree. JR Narita Express is usually the best way to go. That could change soon with the new tracks for the Keisei train company. Platforms for JR and Keisei are in the bowels of both terminals. Although a bit more expensive, one is not at the whim of traffic, as are the limousine buses (which ARE very comfy. In off hours, the limousine bus is a nice alternative ( I pop for the NEX green car--since my clients are paying!!!)

  • help me im travelling there april 01 2010 is there anyone travel with the same date with me? i need assistance if i arrive there but my mom and my step dad gonna pick up me.

  • The airport limo buses cost around 3000yen, They are the best option if one stops at your hotel. If not, the trains are very easy to use. JR's Nex costs 3500yen but includes a 2000yen suica card, it stops at tokyo, shinuya, shinjuku or yokohama. You can also use the Keisei Skyliner, at 2000yen takes you to ueno or nippori. If using the trains go to the travel centers in the station, not in arrivals - they don't sell the cheap tickets!

  • great video, you would suggest a bus from there to shibuya? you think that would cost me around $30 maybe?

  • Valuable information given under 60 seconds! Thanks.

  • could be around 30 000 yen from Narita airport and night time more expensive, according to ad I saw in taxi.

  • When I got the bus from the airport to my hotel in Shinjuku back in August it cost me 3000yen ($30 / £20) to get there. It was worth it because it was so easy and stress-free.

  • I always take the Narita express, and then JR trains... so nice, confortable, and easy to use!... Well, once u get used to them.. lol

  • Taxi's are that high priced, eh?
