  • Nice film work. What editing program did you use? When I see Donat smoking in films, it always amazes me because he had a chronic lung disease. I guess he never put two and two together. His cost for being so breathtaking, I wonder?

  • @giddalti Thanks. That was done in After Effects.

  • Does anyone know what film the kissing scene was from at 1:39 please?

  • @Goonerette89

It's from "The Adventures of Tartu", a.k.a. "Sabotage Agent".

  • This is wonderful. HE is wonderful! Thanks for this!

  • Thanks! And to answer your other message (and that of julianna625 too) - a vid like this on Ronald Colman is quite possible, since he's another great favorite.

  • I have always loved Robert Donat. thanks for this tribute. What a great actor, beautiful voice, and just gorgeous to look at. Taken from us much too soon.

  • No man ever kissed any woman in any film like this man does.

  • Absolutely beautiful video, a fitting tribute to the sublime RD. I and a friend have just launched a new blog about Robert Donat at 'robert hyphen donat dot com', do come and see us if you like RD's work.

  • @giddalti He only pretended to smoke, I believe. If you watch, he never inhales.

  • Awww. No scenes from The Winslow Boy? I LOVE that film. Otherwise, good job.

  • A skillful tribute to our wonderful, most marvelous Mr Donat.

  • @thephantom1946 -- Thanks for letting me know. Where did you get your info?

  • @giddalti The only time Donat smoked was if it was called for in a film, and then he wouldn't inhale. In real life, he avoided being around smoke as much as possible because of his serious asthma. He really hated smoking because of his health problem.
