They're probably smiling because they want to help people. It's meant to be bittersweet, certainly, but not morbid. And really? People remembering their friend and trying to support a health-related cause is "an opportunity for an ad"? Is there a corporate sponsor? Probably. But the actors are trying to do something good in Stanley's memory. Take the self-important cynicism elsewhere.

I feel so sad, I saw the episode "mr. monk buys a house" and it's terrible his death. I'll miss him as dr kroger. R.I.P. and thank you for your espectacular personage.
