Paul Gipe is an award-winning veteran in the work of developing renewable energy policies in North America. In 2004 he served as the executive director of the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association and led the campaign to adapt European renewable electricity economic policies to the North American market. These policies, embedded within the Ontario Green Energy Act, are now catalyzing economic renewal in Ontario across multiple sectors, as has been the experience in several European countries over this last decade. The province of Alberta has a multitude of clean, renewable electricity resources, which we generate on a small scale for our own use and in our mix of energy exports. Paul Gipe has come to Edmonton to explain this method for faster and wider deployment of renewable electricity throughout an economy. Could Alberta join Ontario in creating a new North American industrial revolution?
