The Enfant Pediatric VEP Vision Testing System is a medical device used to test the vision of infants and young children. Because it does not require a verbal response, the Enfant can test children as young as six months. This clip from The Doctors shows just how important it is to get your baby's eyes tested as early as possible!
I think this tool will be an effective screening device. However, I do not agree with this doctor's opinion on the lack of brain plasticity after a certain age. And current research in neurology will back me up. Also, amblyopia can be treated (not easily but yes) even after the toddler age. I have witnessed this for myself working as a certified optometric vision therapist.
