This was the follow-up to the major hit Deck OF Cards. It was released on Dot 16243 in 1961. I've heard a couple of different versions of this song and personally prefer this one, maybe just because it's the one I'm familiar with. Please enjoy and feel free to comment :-)

  • A good old song. After 50 years, the words & music go through my head every time I pass a farm blessed with rich black soil. Thanks for sharing this!

  • Actually it is Frankie Miller's version on the Juke Box at Garner.

  • this is the version that was on the juke box at Garner State Park in Texas when i was 12 years old. i danced to it so many times i cannot count. i am 63 years old now and still go to Garner State Park and this recording is still on the juke box. i loved it then, and still love it now. i have never heard other versions so cannot compare.

  • @psychkoala Thanks for commenting, the picture was off the internet.

  • I prefer Sleepy LaBeef's version, but this one is nice, too.

BTW, WHAT is the location of that little house with the 2 trees in front of it, the rows of whatever growing around it, and the mountains in the background ?

    Beautiful country !
