@Trashfished A bronzer is a single color press with it's delivery hooked to a beltfed machine that applies a very fine metallic powder. Instead of running ink, we run a glue like substance that the bronzing material adheres to. It is what is used to print the metallic looking numbers on the new Currency printed in the USA

@Trashfished Sorry, just saw your response. Well, only two man crews, but I lucked up and got a real good head pressman to work with, he can't print worth a nickle, but he's a real good guy. If we are running heavy stock he loads all the plates, carries off the stacks to drying area, and changes ink canisters and never says a word if I'm having a horrible night on the feeder!

just got lay ed off and from what i ear my boss is giving up our 6 color Heidelberg. Just letting the factory take it back cause he cant pay it. I guess its back to 2/c presses for me. NICE MACHINE

Hey thats cool! Sounds like your company is moving forward. Second pressman is a good job,"especially if your running 3 men" !. I took a voluntary month off in January, but we are up and down now. We run 2 man with up to .034 so its a job. What is a bronzer??? Hey have a good one dude!!

@Trashfished Ha, I was just called back from a layoff last week, I was able to keep my seniority though, back on a forklift from a second pressman. Good news is, we just bought another company out. They are starting up a new bronzer, and buying one more press. I'll be back to a second pressman in a few weeks looks like. Either way if I stay on the press with the real money, I'll be on nights for at least the next 15 years.
