Bulgarian Gaida, Bagpipe, player and traditional Bulgarian dancers at the Orthodox Christian Food Festival in Denver, Colorado, July 2010. The dance group is Ensemble Balgarche, the musicians are from group Planina, and the dance is called "Shopski" dance.

  • i thought it was just the scottish and the irish (ireland) that had bagpipes the last celtic people I have learnt something new today may greets to you bulgaria from ireland

  • @bigjohn697791 Thanks for the comment. Yes the pipes are played in Greek folk music as well, they are called Gaida in Greece also. I don't know a lot about the Greek or Bulgarian Gaida except for that it is an extremely old instrument in both cultures. Greeting from Denver!
