I DO enjoy the FF series. However, the FFXI community seems to now be filled with only (like you mentioned) fanboys, along with people who never leave their house (not gonna lie, that was me back then.. but hey, I was 17) and just elitist assholes in general. I had a positive attitude a few months back with the game but it honestly doesn't seem worth it anymore. I've branched out to WoW, Aion and I'm going to play Guild Wars 2. FFXI is NOT noob friendly. I would suggest FFXIV in 2013..

I've been playing since '06, took a year break in 2010, played a few months in 2011 and then I started logging in like once a month. The game has gone downhill. Sure, it always had a lot of grinding & the the things you mentioned in the game are true, but despite it all I enjoyed it. Like you said, to each his own.. however, over the past couple years the game really has gone to shit. The only reason I even log in now is for nostalgia sake. No, I'm not a fangirl or anything.

definitely liked the comedic approach here, but 1: balkans? Galkans? and 2... this game definitely did come out before WoW, so to compare the graphics and say anything bad about FFXI to WoW graphic wise is a little weird. You did sort of promote them early but then sort of insulted the game's direction in graphics.
Also, I'm pretty sure you have the same approach my friend Augden has about this game (and its fans) - check out my Dead Rising 2 video for comparison. :P
