EDIT: R.I.P Brian Jacques.

... This was when we British could still buy new copies/books of Redwall in the book stores. (lol, bitter much?)

I found this amongst my tape collection when I needed to find something to record Death Note I & II (live action version) that was on TV back to back (DVDs can only record 4hrs top while a tape can usally hold 6hrs). This is an OLLLD tape, even before I recorded this so I'm sorry for the picture qaulity messing up (you can still hear whats going on at least. With DVDs they just skip and f*** up so easily)

  • Brian Passed away on 5th February 2011. He will be sadly missed by his legions

of fans, both his literary fans and the fans of the Radio show he presented 'Jakestown'.

Rest In Peace Brian, you where a 'True Scouser' in every sense of the word, Liverpool will never ever be the same without you.

  • @Digitech1 Oh No! Just went to RedWiki to be sure, just couldn't believe it could happen so suddenly! This is such a blow to the litertary world and to all those people who've had their childhood lightened by this man. :'(

  • Its sad when I hear people say they're losing interest in Redwall. I'm still looking forward to all the new ones! Though maybe its because I haven't been a fan of it for as long? ...I don't know. Meh.

  • @Kelaiah01 I must admit I haven't read Redwall in a long time because I have other books to read. I had a moment when I was buying lots of second-hand books and the unread pile just kept building ( I think I was on 32 Unread books at one point.) I've only got 9 to go through then I plan to read all the current Redwall books.

Though, I did begin to loose some interest when I could no longer buy the books in the book store (only online via imports). Its just not the same.

  • i'll miss you brian jaques

  • Just found out about his passing yesterday...boy am I depressed. His books remain some of my favorites.

  • @YasminJFosterArt Eh... I see your point. Still, I'll be sticking with the books.

  • @Jehosh27 Sometimes you are right, movie adaptations of books (especially those considered children's books) have a record of being inferior. However sometimes movies can bring attention to the books, like I just watched Legend of the Gaurdians: Owls of Ga'Hool and now I want to read the book series.

  • I... hope they never make the books into movies. The stories have magic as books. Movies just don't have that magic.

  • Ah this is the Blue Peter I remember: Liz Barker, Konnie Huq, Matt Baker and Simon Thomas!

It's a shame he's gone, I've heard of the Redwall series but I never had an interest of reading his books (and to be honest, any novels) until after his death.

  • i say who doesn't read these books give 'em blood & vinegar, am i right lads, eh wot wot?

  • I was 2 in 2003
