  • Look at 2:01 and 2:38. He looked at someone (both times same direction) and shook his head like he wanted to say 'No, I don't want that' or 'Don't do it'. Can somebody explain that?

  • The best tribute to Lennon that I know. Paul McCartney wrote "Here Today" and Elton John wrote "Empty Garden"... also very moving and emotional tributes, but I have always liked "Johnny Ace" the best.

I will be spending today thinking about John Lennon and wondering what the world and our music would be like if he was still here.

  • @bledpicker He`s just being into his music and going with the rythm; one doesn`t look or shake one`s head at someone while being on stage

  • @TheYewtoobe I know. It does. I honestly wonder if Paul gave security a piece of his mind after the concert and wondered how the guy A-was able to get on stage like that and B-how he was able to get so close to Paul before security was able to grab him.

  • @Looking1231

never heard this song before..I think the fact it has a weird eery vibe about it, and the fact the guy appears behind paul simon, its almost like a horror movie.. and certainly, if the guy had a weapon of any sort, could have been the late great paulie ace

  • @alpur214 Don't forget this concert was done mere months I believe (not sure outside of 1981 when this concert tool place) after John Lennon was shot and I am sure Paul HAD to think even for a split second, OMG, does he have a gun? Kind of makes you wonder how that guy even got THAT far since he was only a few feet away from him before security got him. Thank God nothing happened to Paul. Scary when you think that Paul was singing a song more or less about John Lennon when this happened.

  • " Hugh fan of Mr Paul Simon, great song too " ~ 'Neville'

  • @snowyowl567 i feel the same way. we will never forget him.

  • Great tribute to Johnny Ace! He's the best Executive Vice President Of Talent Relations and Interim General Manager Of RAW of all times!!!

  • @marjokin This is about three episodes in his life: 1956 when Johnny Ace died, 1964 when he was living in London, and 1980 when John Lennon died. When he heard that John Lennon died, it made him realize that much of his life had passed, which is why he thought back to Johnny Ace.

  • Thank god for security. What a scary moment.
