I decided to take advantage of the rare Georgia snow that actually stays.
The skis were cobbled-up in about 45 minutes with thin copper sheet soldered to copper square tubing. All available cheap from the local hardware store.
Up high the wintery wind was a lot stronger than I expected and it picked-up on the ground as well which made the landing difficult. Typically here in GA, the wind just dies down after 4:30 pm or so but not today..
I had to land fairly fast to keep from getting blown all over my little "runway" and the skis just bounced off the crust instead of sinking-in as I was fighting the cross wind to try and keep the plane from flipping..
Need more practice with this winter stuff :).
