I've never played a Phantasy Star title, but I just bought Phantasy Star Online for the Dreamcast and I'm currently waiting for it in the mail. SOOOOO excited. Will playing PSO1 be enough to give me enough background information to thoroughly enjoy PSO2?

PSO2 is completely separate, so you actually don't need to play the original to play this!! PSO1 was good at it's time, but personally I think it's too outdated to play now and there are a lot of things that PSO2 just does soooo much better. If you're waiting for the English version though, it doesn't hurt to play PSO1 while you wait ;)

Ah, thanks man! Yeah, I was actually just in the mood to get some Dreamcast games since I barely have any at all, and I found PSO1 and bought it. Then I happened to find out that a sequel was coming out on PC by chance, and after seeing some Youtube videos I'm totally psyched for both titles!! I'm mainly using PSO1 now to learn the core gameplay of PSO in general. Does this game stand the test of time in that regard, or will there still be a bit of a learning curve when PSO2 comes out in NA?
