  • Diana...overated Darlene....underated

  • @geebee444 You say that like Diana heard this and said "Hey I think I'll record it and screw the Blossoms". In those days everybody recorded everyones songs and sometimes the remakes were bigger than the orginals. BUT not in this case. This is actually a Supremes song first and foremost written and CONCEIVED Holland Dozier Holland FOR the Supremes. Your opinons on Ms. Ross aside how could she be thieving by this account when this song was written for her and her group???

  • @kurtsupreme Oh, yeah...........now I remember! The Supremes were Flo Ballard, Mary Wilson and "DIANA FALSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • @kurtsupreme ....... flow and margie are Vandellas !!!

  • @oceanbound222 I beg to differ!!!!!! ONLY The Supremes can sing this song. The Supremes own it vocally. Wasn't Diane one of them???????????? Iremember Flo and Mary.............I think that Diane might have been the third one.........not sure, though!

  • The Blossoms and Darlene Love get cudos for all the great cover songs that they copied over the years by other artists. Some are quite impressive; however, not in case. This song was written and produced for the legendary SUPREMES. Many others have covered this song. Whoever sings it only pays homage to the magical recording by Flo, Mary, and Diane. I don't mean to take anything away from Darlene; however, this is now and always will be a SUPREMES song!

  • @urfunked Agreed. She deserves all of the accolades and the royalties....

  • @pentangeli74 +1 Darlene is a true legend. She deserves all the accolades.

  • Miss owns all those songs because she made them so personal. The way she gets more and more intense as the music swells. It's brilliant pop singing. The way only Diana Ross can do.

  • One of the most underrated singers in Pop music and Rock and Roll History. What is truly tragic is a lot of the hits she helped to create, she was never given credit nor royalties. Glad to hear she finally made it into the Rock N Roll Hall Fame 2011.

  • The Blossoms sang incredible backup vocals on many 1960s songs.
